Bulk Actions

Looking to swap out metadata, add a newly hired producer, or delete VODs from older Shows to save disk space? Bulk Actions are a great time-saving solution to tedious problems like these. They provide a way for you to make the same operation across numerous Shows without having to make changes to each record individually.

Accessing Bulk Actions

Bulk actions can be accessed by navigating to Shows | Show Search. Selecting one or more Shows will activate the "Bulk Action" button in the top right of the screen. You can manually select Shows by clicking the checkbox to their left. However, it is much simpler to create a Show Search from the right-side Filter panel and select the checkbox next to "ShowID" to select every Show in your search.

Utilizing Bulk Actions

Once you have selected your Shows, you may now create a Bulk Action. The three types of actions are as follows:

• Bulk Delete VODs
  • Disables VOD for each show and schedules the deletion of VOD related Assets. The default scheduled deletion time is 7 days.
• Bulk Delete Assets
  • Schedules the deletion of playback Assets for each Show. The default scheduled deletion time is 7 days.
• Bulk Update Metadata
  • Choose from a selection of Show Metadata and Custom Fields to update for each show.
  • Click "New field to update", select a Metadata or Custom Field, and make your desired changes.
  • You can select any number of fields to update in a single Bulk Action.

• Tag custom fields are a special case because their content is more like a collection than an individual selection. When changing tags, you can specify the operation to perform on the tags from the dropdown next to the field's name.
  • Add
    • Appends the selected Tags to Shows. You are able to create new Tags by typing in the selection box and hitting the Return key.
  • Remove
    • Removes the selected Tags from Shows. Only matching Tags will be removed.
  • Replace
    • Removes all Tags from Shows, then adds the selected Tags to Shows. You are able to create new Tags by typing in the selection box and hitting the Return key.
  • Clear All
    • Removes all Tags from Shows.

After finalizing your changes, submit your bulk action for processing. You will be redirected to a status screen. This layout shows you the percentage progress of your bulk action and the amount of time the operation has taken.

Once all records have been updated, you can hit "Done" to be redirected back to the Show Search screen.
