Updating YouTube Libraries in Cablecast
This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to update the YouTube library using a script and restarting the video server engine if necessary. This process is useful if you're experiencing issues with pulling in YouTube feeds, such as video with no audio or not receiving any content from a YouTube live feed that is confirmed to be working.
Steps to Update YouTube Library:
Download the Script:
- Download the YouTube library update script to the desktop of your video server. This would be a VIO or Flex server.
Run the Script:
- Right-click the script and select "Run as administrator."
- When prompted to allow the script to make changes, click "Yes."
- The script will automatically run. Once it completes, press any key to close the window.
Restarting the Video Server Engine (If Necessary):
- If the issue persists after running the script, you may need to restart your video server engine.
To Restart the Cablecast Video Server Engine, follow the steps in this KB article.
Important Considerations
Restarting the video server engine will temporarily stop any video or CG output on your server for a few seconds. Avoid performing this procedure during critical programming, live events, or recordings to prevent interruptions.
