Reporting in Cablecast

Last Updated:May 19, 2026

Cablecast includes built-in reporting tools to help you track your programming, shows, and audience activity. To access them, go to Tools > Reporting.

The Reporting page lists five report types: Schedule Report, Shows Report, Export TV Guide X-List, Export Data, and Audience Measurement. Select any report name to open it.

Schedule Report

The Schedule Report generates a report of your scheduled programming, including first runs. Use this report to review what has aired or is scheduled to air within a given time period.

To generate a Schedule Report:

  • Go to Tools > Reporting.

  • Select Schedule Report.

  • Under Schedule Dates, set a Start and End date for the report.

  • Under Filters, select the Locations and Channels you want to include, or leave both set to All.

  • Under Breakdowns, check the box next to each breakdown you want to include in the report. Total and First Runs are enabled by default. Additional options include VOD Views, Location, Channel, Category, Producer, Project, and any custom fields configured for your system. Note: The VOD Views breakdown is a legacy option. For current audience tracking, use Audience Measurement Reports, which require a REFLECT or REFLECT+ subscription.

  • Select the gear icon next to any breakdown to configure its components — you can include or exclude Pie Charts, Statistic Tables, Show Details Tables, and Bar Charts, and set a custom chart color.

The Configure Total dialog, showing checkboxes for Pie Charts, Statistic Tables, Show Details Tables, and Bar Charts, along with a color picker for setting the chart color.
  • Select View Report.

Note: Custom fields appear as breakdown options when generating this report. For more information, see Custom Fields in Cablecast.

The report displays the enabled breakdowns in sequence. Each breakdown includes the components you configured — by default, a pie chart, a Statistics table summarizing Total Shows, Average Show Length, Total Runs, Total Run Time, and Average Run Length, and a Show Details table listing each show's ID, title, TRT, total runs, and channel.

From the report, you can Save Data as CSV to export the results, or use the buttons at the bottom of the page: Edit Report returns you to the configuration page, View Public generates the report using your system's public address (if configured) so it can be shared with people outside your network — such as board members or town administrators — and Print Report sends the report to your printer.

Shows Report

The Shows Report generates a report of Show Records broken down by event date. Use this report to find shows associated with a specific date range, or to review programming history by event rather than by run date.

To generate a Shows Report:

  • Go to Tools > Reporting.

  • Select Shows Report.

  • Under Show Event Date, set a Start and End date for the report.

  • Under Filters, select the Locations and Channels you want to include, or leave both set to All.

  • Under Breakdowns, check the box next to each breakdown you want to include.

  • Select View Report.

Export TV Guide X-List

The Export TV Guide X-List tool creates an export of your schedule in a format compatible with TV Guide's X-List service. This is the data that populates the Electronic Programming Guide (EPG) viewers see on their cable channel listings. Use this if your station submits programming data to TV Guide. Before exporting, check with your cable provider to confirm their required format and file type.

For details on how show categories are mapped during export, see How are Categories Handled by the XList Export Functionality?

Export Data

Export Data allows you to export data from Cablecast for use in an external system. To access it, go to Tools > Reporting and select Export Data.

Note: Documentation for this feature is limited. If you have questions about the available export options, contact Cablecast Support.

Audience Measurement

Audience Measurement reports track the number of viewers and total viewing time for your VODs and Live Streams. This feature requires a REFLECT or REFLECT+ subscription.

For detailed instructions on running Audience Measurement reports, see Audience Measurement Reports.
