Accessing Audience Measurement Reports

To open Audience Measurement Reports, go to Tools → Reporting → Audience Measurement.

The Cablecast Reporting page with Audience Measurement highlighted, showing all five report types listed with descriptions.

Configuring Your Report

Before generating a report, choose your stream type, chart type, chart display, and date range.

Stream Type

Use the Stream Type selector to filter results by content type. Choose from:

  • All — includes both VOD and live stream data

  • VOD — shows Video on Demand (VOD) content only

  • Live — shows live stream content only

Chart Type

Use the Chart Type selector to choose how your data is displayed. Audience Measurement offers two chart types:

  • Bar Chart — displays data as bars for the selected date range. Hover over any bar to see more detailed information about that item.

  • Time Series — plots data as a line graph over time. Hover over any point on the graph to see details. You can also select or deselect individual shows or streams using the list to the right of the graph to focus on specific items.

Chart Display

Use the Chart Display selector to choose which metric the chart shows. The options available depend on which chart type you have selected:

  • Bar Chart supports: Time Viewed, Viewer Count

  • Time Series supports: Time Viewed, Viewer Count, Peak Viewer Count

Note: Peak Viewer Count shows viewership in 24-hour periods, even for live streams, when the report date range spans more than one day. For single-day ranges, live stream data is broken down into 30-minute intervals.

Date Range

Use the Date Range fields to set the start and end dates for your report. Select the calendar icon next to either field to navigate to a specific date.

Reading the Report

Once your report is configured, the chart displays your data. A summary row at the top of the results shows totals for the selected date range: VODs Viewed, Live Streams Viewed, Views, and Total Time Viewed.

Below the chart, the VOD / Live Stream Breakdown table lists each item with:

  • Type — VOD or Live Stream

  • Total Views

  • Total Time Viewed

  • Select next to any item to expand it and see individual view sessions:

    • VOD items show view sessions in 24-hour intervals. View counts display at 12:00 AM for each day.

    • Live stream items show view sessions in 30-minute intervals.

Exporting Report Data

To save your report data, select Save Data as CSV. This exports the Audience Measurement Report to a comma-separated values (CSV) file that you can open in a spreadsheet application.
