CablecastRTMP Managing Your Account
Cablecast supports RTMP as a live streaming source. To use RTMP as a live source, an RTMP server is needed to facilitate communication between the source of the stream and the Cablecast server. CablecastRTMP fills this need as a cloud-based RTMP service. This article covers how to manage your CablecastRTMP account.
To learn more about other network streaming sources in Cablecast, see the Network Streaming feature overview.
Account Created
Once your purchase of CablecastRTMP is processed, Cablecast Support begins creating and configuring your account. You will receive an email containing your login information, including your username and password. Support creates an initial password for you, which you can change after you log in. See Changing Your CablecastRTMP Password for details.

Managing Your Stream
After you log in, you will have access to your organization's Dashboard. From the Dashboard, you can manage the Cablecast Cloud Services your organization uses. This article focuses on the CablecastRTMP area, known as RTMP Servers. From here, you can manage your servers and check your server status. See Server Status Page to learn more.
Select an available RTMP server:

This brings you to the management area:

Here you will find your Stream URL, Stream Key, and Simulcast setup area.
With CablecastRTMP, you can set up three different RTMP streams with your account.
The Playback URL is the combination of your Stream URL and Stream Key, and it is what you need to configure your stream for use in Cablecast as a Network Stream. Your full Playback URL is shown directly below the Playback URL heading. Paste that full address into the Network Stream area of Cablecast:

Managing Simulcasts
Simulcasts give you the ability to simultaneously send the stream you are receiving directly to another service, such as Facebook Live or YouTube Live. To add a new simulcast, select Manage Simulcasts.

This opens a new window. First, choose the type of simulcast you are setting up: Facebook Live, YouTube Live, or a Generic RTMP. Then name the simulcast so you can identify it later. The Stream URL and Stream Key are provided by the third-party service (Facebook, YouTube, and so on). This information allows them to accept the simulcast you are sending. When everything is filled out, select Create. For step-by-step help obtaining the Server URL and Stream Key from Facebook or YouTube, see How to Start Facebook Live and YouTube Live.

Once you have set up all the simulcasts you want to use, an activation message appears at the top of the page telling you to activate the configuration. Select Activate Configuration.

You can now use your RTMP sources and simulcast them to other services. Return to this area any time to edit, delete, or turn your simulcasts on and off.
Summary
CablecastRTMP is the cloud-based RTMP service that lets Cablecast use RTMP as a live streaming source. From your organization's Dashboard, the RTMP Servers area gives you the Stream URL and Stream Key needed to configure a Network Stream in Cablecast, supports up to three RTMP streams per account, and lets you set up simulcasts to services like Facebook Live and YouTube Live. After configuring your simulcasts, remember to activate the configuration so your settings take effect.
