VIO Outputs as NDI sources
July 6, 2021
Introduction
Your VIO server can output signal via NDI as well as SDI baseband video. This allows you to view or display your server output on computers, monitors, or other devices that support NDI.
Example:
- Send your channels via NDI to a digital multivew, allowing you to view them on you computer or a network-connected display without SDI cables.
Setup
Important Note
The Cablecast Video Server engine needs to restart when most changes are made to video server outputs in the Device settings. Make sure that you don't enable NDI when you have a live event passing through the server output or recording to the encoder, as the server will stop outputting/encoding for a few seconds while the Cablecast Video Server engine restarts.
Turning this feature on is easy!
- Within the Cablecast UI, navigate to Settings > Location Settings > I/O > Devices.
- Find your output device and click “Edit”.
- Scroll down until you see “Enable NDI Output”
- Click on the box next to it
- Click “Save”
