How to use Mirrored Outputs

Last Updated:March 18, 2026

Cablecast supports mirrored outputs, which allow one or more outputs to receive the same automation switch commands as a primary output. This eliminates the need for external distribution amplifiers (DAs) or router loops to duplicate a signal — you can handle the mirroring entirely within Cablecast.

Once mirrored outputs are configured, all switches generated through Autopilot and the Force Matrix UI are replicated to those outputs automatically. If a primary output is overridden, all mirrored outputs are overridden as well.

Mirrored outputs are useful in a variety of setups, including:

  • Live streams

  • Additional cable provider feeds

  • Multi-viewers and monitor walls

Any output of the SDI routing switcher that Cablecast controls can be configured to mirror one of the Channel type outputs.

Configuring Mirrored Outputs

Before you begin

Create all of your outputs first before configuring mirroring.

  1. Go to Settings → Location Settings → I/O → Outputs.

  2. Open the primary output you want to configure.

  3. In the output settings, select the output or outputs you want to mirror this primary output.

  4. To select more than one mirrored output, hold Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac) while clicking each output in the list.

  5. Save your changes.

he Outputs configuration screen in Cablecast Location Settings, showing a primary output selected and mirrored outputs listed below it.

Next Steps

With mirrored outputs configured, Autopilot and Force Matrix will automatically keep all outputs in sync. No additional setup is required after saving.
