Overview

Cablecast 7.6 introduces the Audience Measurement Dashboard that provides insights into VOD and Live Stream viewing. Additional features include Audio Meters, FrontDoor integration, device config in the Cablecast UI, and software updates from the UI. Cablecast 7.6.4 addresses issues discovered in the public release of Cablecast 7.6.0.

• CC-3937 Force Matrix Does Not Auto Select None When Sending Action Using Standalone CG Devices
  • Fixed an issue where the force matrix would send a stop to Standalone CG players when switching to Standalone CG causing the CG to stop playing for 30 to 60 seconds.
• CC-1648 CablecastCG Player Now Periodically Updates Background Audio Playlist While Playing
  • In previous versions, the CablecastCG player used by VIO servers and the CablecastCG Desktop Player would load the Background Audio Playlist on the channel's initial load. With this update, the player will now receive regular updates with the current playlist allowing changes to the Background Audio Playlist while the channel is playing.
• CC-3710 Putting a # in a file name will cause it to fail when trying to move, copy or VOD it.
  • Fixed an issue where a file would not transfer to another server or VOD when a '#' value was used in the file name.
• CC-3755 Internet Channels Display TRT In Seconds
  • Fixed an issue where a Show's TRT was displayed in seconds instead of timecode.
• CC-3914 Uploaded Assets Can Fail and Break Future Uploads
  • Fixed an issue where uploaded assets could fail to transfer to a destination FileStore and the leftover failed asset would break future uploads.
• CC-3919 Cablecast Cloud Services Main Menu Heads Up Display Now Shows Last Communication Timeb
  • Changed the timestamp used in the Main Menu for Cablecast Cloud Services Last Checkin. Previously the timestamp displayed was the last time Cablecast rotated its temporary access credentials which happens every 12-24 hours. Now the time displayed is the last time Cablecast communicated with Cablecast Cloud Services which is typically every 5 to 10 minutes.
• CC-3920 Cablecast Cloud Services Dashboard Does Not Correctly Display Streaming Apps Status
  • Fixed a syncing issue where Cablecast was incorrectly setting the status of Streaming apps with the status of Cablecast Cloud Storage leading to an incorrect status in the Cloud Services Dashboard.
• CC-3939 Installer Fails To Full Remove Previous Versions
  • Fixed an issue where Frontdoor was not properly uninstalled when users upgraded to 7.6.
• CC-3957 Audience Measurement Data Does Not Sync If Only Reflect Is Enabled
  • Fixed an issue with Cablecast's syncing logic where it would only sync with Cablecast Cloud Services if one of the additional Cloud Services were enabled such as Cablecast Closed Captions, Cablecast Cloud Storage, or Cablecast Reflect Plus. As Reflect is just a pull based CDN, Reflect being the only service enabled wouldn't trigger the full sync required to pull metrics from Cablecast Cloud Services into Cablecast.
• CC-3975 Resume Into Standalone CG Faster After Restart
  • Improved the startup speed for Standalone CG devices so that they begin playing back faster upon the system starting up.
• CC-3985 Thumbnail Generation Can Be Assigned To Wrong Server
  • Fixed an issue where Cablecast would try to generate thumbnails on a server that did not have access to the Asset.
• CC-4005 Internet Channels Fail To Load Default Site If Initial Internet Channel Has Been Deleted​​​​​​
  • Fixed an issue where Cablecast would not load a default internet channel if the systems first Internet Channel had been deleted.
• CC-4029 Internet Channels Shouldn't Filter CGExempt Shows By Default
  • Fixed an issue that prevent CG Exempt shows from being included in Internet Channels. CG Exempt Shows are now allowed in Internet Channels and can optionally be excluded by modifying the Saved Searches used for Site Content, Galleries, or Slide Shows.
• CC-4047 [REFLECT+] - Channel Sync Is Not Frequent Enough
  • Improved the frequency at which Internet Channels sync non-Show metadata such as Site colors and logos to Reflect+.
• CC-4046 Internet Channel Other Sites Uses Incorrect Root Address
  • ​​​​​​​Fixed an issue that caused Internet Channels to incorrectly redirect to non Reflect URLS when linking to other Internet Channels.
• CC-4071 Offline Caption Not Reporting Usage
  • Fixed an issue with Cablecast Closed Captioning where offline jobs would not report their usage to Cablecast Cloud Services. Your welcome for the free captions!
• CC-4079 [Reflect+] Live Streams Can Get Stuck with Cached Content
  • Fixed an issue with Cablecast not correctly rotating temporary security credentials, which would allow credentials to expire, and prevent Cablecast from pushing new live streaming segments to the cloud.
• CC-4089 Audience Measurement Associates Live Streams With Legacy Configuration
  • Fixed an issue with Audience Measurement Dashboards where Live Streams created after Cablecast 7.3 wouldn't be correctly associated and linked up with streaming metrics.
• CC-4162 Shadow Video Servers are not getting a valid video server config json
  • Fixed an issue where Shadow servers were not receiving a valid video server json configuration.
