Apple Developer Program Emails

December 15, 2022

If you have a Branded Apple TV or Apple iOS app, you may receive a couple of emails from Apple about renewals. It's important to note the difference between the two. The first is a notice to renew your Apple Developer Program membership. It is important that you do this. If you fail to renew your Developer Program membership, your app could end up being de-listed from the App store.

The second email is about renewing your Apple App Distribution Certificate. This email does not currently require further action. If/when your app needs to be re-submitted, the Distribution Certificate will need to be renewed at that time, but not renewing right away will not result in your app being de-listed from the App Store.

Additionally, in order to submit your app to the Apple App Store we will need your organization to enroll in the Apple Developer Program. You can do that here: https://developer.apple.com/programs/enroll/

*** It is important that you enroll as an organization so that you can add a member of the Cablecast development team to your account in order to submit the apps on your behalf ***

Depending on the status of your organization you may be able to have the Apple Developer fee waived. More info on that is here: https://developer.apple.com/support/membership-fee-waiver/

Apple has also been sending an email asking users to confirm their trader status. Cablecast does not distribute in the EU and our app is free and doesn't offer in app purchases. This means that Apple doesn't need to collect any money on behalf of Cablecast or any customers hosting their apps through their own Apple account. We recommend choosing "This is a non-trader provider account" for this question.

If you have any trouble enrolling in the developer program or receive an email regarding a developer account for one of your apps and are unsure of next steps, please contact the Cablecast Support team.
