Cablecast Manual

What's new in Cablecast 7.7

Cablecast 7.7 introduces translations for your closed caption content and the ability to edit captions using an all new integrated Caption Editor. You’ll be able to access all of your sidecar and VOD text track content directly in the all new Text Tracks user interface. With the introduction of translations, you can now create a show record and enable automatic translations for your content in multiple languages.

Text Tracks User Interface

An all new user interface for managing your translations and transcriptions. We’re calling it the Text Tracks UI and from here you can view, filter and modify your sidecar files and VOD text tracks. By default, the Text Tracks UI will load all shows that have any text tracks assets (sidecar caption or VOD WebVTT files) associated with them. The Text Tracks UI can be accessed from the left navigation panel.

Closed Caption Translations

Provides users with the ability to translate their live and VOD content using CEA-608 caption support. Users can now queue translations using the brand new Text Tracks user interface and edit their captions using the brand new Caption Editor. Users will also have the ability to enable auto-translate from the show record just like they do with closed captions today.

Caption Editor

The all new Caption Editor supports CEA-608 captions and gives users the ability to edit captions and timing. Did closed captions capture the wrong name? Now there’s a way to fix that! This feature even provides a "find and replace" option so that you can edit all your captions with ease.
