Smart Summaries

Smart Summaries provide AI summarization technology to Cablecast VOD content. This article shows how to configure a Cablecast system to use Smart Summaries

Prerequisites

• Cablecast Video on Demand
• Speechmatics ASR Provider
• Smart Summaries Enabled

Configuration

Smart Summaries must first be tied to a Show Custom Field.

• Navigate to Settings - Location Settings - Shows - Smart Summaries
• Select a Custom Field from the dropdown
  • If no valid Custom Fields exist, choose Add Custom Field and create a Text Custom Field
• Hit Save

Then, enable Smart Summary processing on the desired VOD content

• Navigate to Edit Show - Internet Video - Smart Summary tab
• Switch to Enabled

This method works for both existing and upcoming VODs. You can also use a Bulk Action to enable Smart Summaries on a number of existing VODs.

Result

If the Smart Summary processed successfully, you will see the result populated in the Show Custom Field you configured earlier.

You can hit Resubmit in the VOD Smart Summary tab to generate the summary again, or to retry if the processing failed.
