Cablecast 7.4.4 Release

February 8, 2022

Release Date: January 5, 2022

Maintenance release for 7.4 including:

  • CC-2832 Autopilot Fails Instead of Issues Warning When No Caption Encode Device Is Selected
    • An error message pointing to the misconfigured run is now presented as part of the Autopilot send report.
  • CC-2719 Allow Find and Replace on Autoscheduled Runs
    • The Autoscheduler can now tell if a user has modified a run in the schedule. This prevents it from overwriting user edits with the latest autoschedule results.
  • CC-2761 Crawl Schedule Does Not Load All Crawl Events
    • Fixed an issue where the crawl schedule would not load crawl data from the correct day. This would lead to newly created crawls eventually disappearing from the schedule even though they were still active.
  • CC-2808 Source Files With Cue Set Do Not Create Caption Files For VODb
    • Fixed an issue where shows with reel cue points would fail to create proper VOD caption files.
  • CC-2814 Click + Shift Works On Hidden Deleted Runs
    • Fixed an issue where shift+click in the schedule would selected from deleted runs causing confusing selections when copying and pasting.
  • CC-2818 Some Converters Garble Captions When Converting From HD to SD
    • Changed SCC file generation to remove caption data packets that only contain padding. This improves caption conversion on some HD to analog converters. Note that at this time this change only applies to SCC files generated by Cablecast Closed Captioning. In the future, this change will also be applied to live caption streams as well.
  • CC-2823 CC Icon Does Not Always Appear For Recently Transcribed Shows
    • Fixed an issue where digital file management wouldn't detect a file as changed if only its caption properties had changed. This caused the database to not be updated and led to stale information being displayed about the file.
  • CC-2825 Record and Caption Devices Allow Picking Live Stream Device
    • Fixed an issue where Live Stream devices were not filtered out from Encode and Caption device selection dropdowns.
  • CC-2826 Missing Mirrored Outputs Can Cause Autopilot to Fail Without a Message
    • Autopilot will now skip mirrored outputs where the destination output has been deleted.
  • CC-2830 Parse Full File For Captions
    • Cablecast will now parse the full file in order to search for closed caption streams. Previously only the first and last ten seconds were parsed.
  • CC-2831 Offline Captions Sometimes Fail After First Enabled
    • Fixed issue where a captioning job might fail due to the language not being set.
  • CC-2834 Stability Issues With Live Transcription
    • Fixed several issues with Live Transcription on VIO servers where network issues could cause the encoder to error out and require a restart of the video server process. The live transcription will now timeout correctly and enter a passthrough mode without disrupting the input or active encodes.
  • CC-2835 Increase Timeouts For Network Streams
    • It was found that some network stream providers, specifically restream.io, have an especially long startup duration. Other encoders or networks have also been shown to be slow to initialize a streaming connection, leading to repeated restarts as Cablecast tries to lock on to a stream. Cablecast now allows a longer time before attempting to restart such streams.
