Cablecast 7.4.0 Release

December 7, 2021

Release Date: December 7th, 2021

Cablecast 7.4 introduces Cablecast Automated Closed Captioning. Both recorded (offline) and live (online) programming can be captioned. Autopilot has been enhanced with background processing, scheduled sends, detailed and historical reporting, and email notifications.

All Release Notes:

  • CC-1837 Automation Overrides Do Not Overide Encoder Input
    • Previously overriding a channel would only override the channel's router output. This would cause scheduled passthrough events to interrupt overridden passthrough events when the encoder input switched sources. Now the encoder input is also overridden, preventing disruption of the on-air passthrough event.
  • CC-2160 Channel Can Fail To Override During Passthrough
    • Fixed an issue where a channel that was overridden during a passthrough could fail to override the channel.
  • CC-2311 Autopilot - The Next Generation
    • Autopilot, the schedule validation process in Cablecast, has been expanded with several new capabilities including automatic sending on a user-defined schedule, email notifications of sends that introduce warnings or errors, and a detailed history of previous sends.
  • CC-2345 Mirrored Outputs Support
    • Cablecast now supports creating Mirrored Outputs. When an output, or outputs, is set as a mirror of a primary output it will receive the same automation switch commands as the primary output. This applies to switches generated through autopilot as well as switches from the Force Matrix UI.
  • CC-2424 Cablecast Closed Captioning
    • Cablecast Closed Captioning allows station operators to generate high accuracy closed captions for both pre-recorded and live content with a simple click of the button. Cablecast Closed Captions utilizes transcription services provided by Cablecast Cloud Services including support for custom vocabularies and built-in profanity filtering.
  • CC-2649 Enhanced Integration With Enco EnCaption
    • Cablecast now includes an enCaption control module enabling force matrix control of the enCaption for live transcription. Cablecast can also use enCaption for captioning pre-recorded content with a single click in the show record.
  • CC-2735 VIO OMNI Support
    • VIO Omni support allows a VIO server to be licensed as an Omni configuration, allowing the full Cablecast experience for both automation and internet delivery in a single hardware unit.
  • CC-2736 Live Streaming Server Previews In Force Matrix
    • Cablecast Live servers will now be displayed as devices in the Force Matrix allowing for thumbnail previews and signal input information.
