Cablecast Software End of Life (EOL) Policy

March 5, 2021

Cablecast uses the term End of Life (EOL) to describe software that is no longer actively maintained. Products naturally reach the end of their life cycle for a number of reasons. Specifically, as we release new feature versions of our software, many of the behind-the-scenes technologies we harness are replaced by functionally richer technology; by either necessity or choice.

For this reason, Cablecast will designate software as EOL two years after its initial release. For example, Cablecast 5.3.0 was released on June 5th, 2014, thus the planned EOL date for Cablecast 5.3.z is June 5th, 2016. We do reserve the right to dub software as EOL prior to the two year mark, if we feel all material issues have been resolved.

While upgrading to the latest version of our software is highly recommended and provides you with the latest and greatest functionality; we understand it may not always be an option. If you encounter an obstacle in our software, regardless if it has been deemed EOL, please contact us. We will continue to support the software by providing suggestions and workarounds when possible, with the understanding that a resolution may not be feasible.
