Cablecast 7.3 brings support for the VIOStream appliance, allowing for Cablecast’s powerful VOD, Live Streaming, and Automation all in one appliance optimized for OTT delivery. It also includes improvements and new features to Cablecast VOD, Live Streaming, VIO Servers, and Cablecast CG.

  • CC-1813 Mono Audio Streams Are Not Converted To Stereo For Network Streams
    • Network audio streams that have mono audio are now converted to stereo audio.
  • CC-2002 Live Streams Support Uploading Poster Graphic
    • Live Streams can now be configured with a Poster graphic that is displayed when the video is not playing.
  • CC-2210 CablecastCG display engine doesn't load for Windows players
    • Fix a missing configuration option that was preventing desktop cg players from starting without modification.
  • CC-2222 Show Record Trimming Tool Fails for Videos on Network Shares
    • Fixed an issue where files hosted on network shares would not load in the browser when opening the file for trimming.
  • CC-2226 Remove Agenda Title Character Limit
    • Agenda Titles no longer have a character limit.
  • CC-2246 Cablecast UI Displays Software Update Messages
    • Cablecast allows customers to automatically download to each server new maintenance releases.
  • CC-2258 Dynamic Audio Normalization
    • VIO servers allow setting a target loudness and all audio is adjusted to hit that level. This is very helpful when you are receiving content from many different producers.
  • CC-2259 CablecastCG Can Use Network Streams For Background Audio
    • CablecastCG can now use network streams, such as internet radio from Icecast servers, as background audio.
  • CC-2271 VIO Servers Support Outputting NDI Streams
    • VIO Servers can be configured to output an NDI stream of each video server output.
  • CC-2300 Cablecast CG Live Video Bulletins Play Live Bulletins Without Audio
    • Fixed an issue that dropped live audio streams if the streams were offset from the video.
  • CC-2301 Reels Created For Existing Files Don't Automatically Link
    • Fixed an issue where if a reel was created after a file is already on the disk with that name, they would not automatically link.
  • CC-2310 Lock Encode Processing Threads
    • Fixed an issue where multiple processors could be started for monitoring encodes. This would lead to operation conflicts causing files to be deleted.
  • CC-2340 Allow configuring Autoplay For Live Streaming Player
    • Live stream players can now be configured to have autoplay enabled, subjected to browser support.
  • CC-2398 Show Record Interface Improvements
    • Update the layout of the Cablecast show record to allow for longer custom field titles as well as sticky action buttons at the bottom of the record.
  • CC-2417 VIO Stream Support
    • Support for the all in one VIOStream hardware. VIOStream hardware combines the Cablecast automation, Live Streaming and Video On Demand into one hardware appliance focused on over the top delivery.
  • CC-2422 Cablecast Live Servers Use Latest Cablecast Video Server Engine
    • Cablecast Live servers now use the same video server engine as the Flex servers. This brings a number of improvements including automatic scaling of various input resolutions, as well as improved closed caption support for NTSC and 720p resolutions.
  • CC-2423 Video On Demand Qualities Are Transcoded Individually
    • The video on demand queuing logic was updated to transcode a single quality of each queued VOD before working on additional qualities. This allows individual VODs to be available for online viewing faster as well as making all VODs available in a shorter amount of time when multiple VODs are queued at the same time.
  • CC-2440 Fix 'Lorem Ipsum' Placeholder Text in Successful Update Download Screen
    • Unlorem'ed the Ipsum :)
