(Sorry - I put this in as a feature request - it's an observation)
We've been burning through free space on our 6TB system, and yesterday I saw we had only 14 gigs free. Something was up, and I found it in the .temp folder. It seems since January, every upload transfer file was still in there and wasn't deleted - 2.1 TB worth!
Is there a setting to have the system check to clean this area out? I went through all 300+ files and confirmed they actually did create the VOD files. Then I manually deleted them, freeing up a few TB of space.
We currently have over 8000 shows available since 2006. We also have a bunch of legacy .wmv files that still can be downloaded, but aren't playable remotely since Silverlight was pulled. in 2011 I remember manually reencoding a bunch of the mpg files because there wasn't a work around. Many of those old master videos aren't available to redo the process, so what we have is what we have unless I can find the raw tapes.
tl;dr - Check your .temp folder on the VOD. You might have a lot of things to delete.
