Cablecast Community Media has always had a policy in the price-book that stated "Software assurance will need to be made current before additional years can be purchased". Though, we never really kept up to speed with that policy. We didn't think it would be fair to some users if they were out of coverage for 3 years, then decided to renew. We did not think it was right for them to pay up for the 3 missed years.
We sent two email notifications to all our customers (Who we had email addresses for) notifying them of this change, and giving them time to act on expired assurance before the new policy went into effect. These emails were sent March 8 and May 14.
Starting May 15 2019, We started enforcing this new change for all customers. To help our customers be more aware of their expiration date on software coverage, early March 2019, we deployed a automated notification system. This system will email one contact at your station mentioning the coverage is within 30 days of expiration.

Am I affected by this new change?
If you renew your Cablecast Software Assurance regularly, this change does not impact you. Your pricing will remain the same. Though if you let your coverage expire, read the section below (When does the "Lapsed Pricing" impact me).
When does the "Lapsed Pricing" impact me
If you let your Software assurance lapse (expire), your system then becomes subject to the increased renewal costs to get it back within coverage. The increase in cost is $200 per I/O.
If we do not have a notification or primary email on file for a customer, we will waive the lapsed pricing and give a 45 day window to become current on assurance.
Will I always be subject to a price increase after my coverage lapses?
No. Once you pay the higher rate to get renewed, if you renew on time your next year, you will pay the standard renewal rate. The only time you're subject to the lapsed pricing is when you let your coverage expire.
If you have questions or concerns about this policy change, contact Cablecast Inside Sales or email email@example.com.
