When it comes to renewing Cablecast Software Assurance, we've never enforced our policy for back-charging missed coverage on your system. So if you were out of coverage for a year, then renewed coverage again, you would still pay the same amount as if you hadn't lasped at all on coverage.
Beginning Feb 20th 2019, we're beginning to enforce our policy of charging additional for missed coverage on a system that's been stale on its software warranty.
Customers who wait to renew their coverage will be charged a increase of 25% of their standard software warranty cost. Customers who continue to renew their coverage regularly on a annual basis will not be impacted by this change.
There is a short grace period after your coverage expires, so you do have some time after expiration to get the coverage renewed before the increase.
We understand that this change can be a surprise to some customers who don't know what their warranty software expiration date is. Starting January 2019, we begun sending automated emails to customers informing them about their warranty statuses, both 30 days and 0 days from expiration. If you dont want these automated emails, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org and request to opt-out of warranty & subscription based notifications.
Customers who don't have a email address on file with us will be waived from being charged the increased amount, as we were not able to properly inform them of their end date. Customers who have a email on file, but elected to opt-out of warranty notifications will still be subject to lapsed increases on cost.
Expiring after quoted renewal
If you request a quote from us for renewal before your coverage expires, but pay after the expiration of your coverage, we will honor the price granted on the quote, so long as the quote is valid (see "expires" date on quote document).
