Symptoms
- Scheduled or Forced encodes fail if the filename contains an invalid path character.
Cause
Windows doesn't allow any of the following characters to be used in a file or folder name:
/ ? < > \ : * | "
Workaround
- Do not include any of the previously mentioned characters in the Device File Key field when setting up an Encode.

PendingThis software behavior has been identified as bug and will be fixed. It has been assigned case number 8751.
Fixed This bug has been fixed internally as is awaiting release.
Released A fix for this bug has been released in Cablecast 5.2.11, released on June 6 2015.
Fix Description
The fix for this issue consists of internally removing any invalid characters from the file name. If you schedule an encode using the Device File Key Test?Encode.mov, the "?" character will be removed and the resulting file will be named TestEncode.mov.
